Princess Youth Program
Princess has a special place in its heart for kids aboard their ships -- now more than ever! Nearly every ship in Princess' fleet has a dedicated Youth and Teen Center with oceans of activities offered and supervised by a professional staff. The following information details why cruising is kid's play with Princess.
A BOATLOAD OF FUN
When you cruise on the Caribbean, Coral, Crown, Dawn, Diamond, Emerald, Golden, Grand, Island, Regal, Ruby, Sapphire, Sea, Star, and Sun Princess, you will find these ships completely equipped with Youth and Teen Centers. There is everything from arts and crafts corners, games tables, movies and splash pools to Teen Centers with ping-pong tables, jukeboxes and all the latest video games.
All Youth and Teen Centers are fully supervised by a fun-loving Youth and Teen Staff. And since not all kids like to eat grown-up food at mealtime, Princess offers a special children's menu. This option is available aboard all Princess ships.
Children are welcome on all Princess ships, but facilities vary. The Royal, Pacific, and Tahitian Princess ships do not have dedicated Youth and Teen Centers. However, when 20 or more children ages 3 to 17 are traveling on these three ships, children will enjoy a varied schedule of supervised activities organized by a Youth Activities Coordinator.
RAVES ON THE WAVES
Tested by thousands of cruise kids, Princess' Kids Program has earned rave reviews for cool activities and camaraderie. Princess Pelicans, ages 3-7, and Princess Shockwaves, ages 8-12, are entertained with non-stop activities such as:

PRINCESS EXTRAS
CALIFORNIA SCIENCE CENTER
Children onboard Princess ships shouldn't miss out on these award winning science programs, which are geared toward their particular ship's destination. Kids will beef up their marine biology knowledge, construct and race sailboats, dissect squids, and whale watch, just to name a few stimulating interactive science activities.
PETE'S PALS
Kids will receive plush animals – beginning with Pelican Pete, Princess' Youth Center mascot, and also including manatees, sea turtles and bald eagles – as a way of learning about endangered species in the areas in which Princess sails.
PELICAN'S PERCH
Kids can make the most of their island adventure in this supervised play area on Princess' own private island, Princess Cays. This special playground is supervised by the shipboard Youth Staff and provides a safe place for children while parents enjoy the many beach amenities and water sports offered. Pelican's Perch is open from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
PRINCESS YOUTH & TEEN DINNER EVENTS
Two nights during the cruise, children, gathered in their own age groups, will enjoy a sans-parents dinner in the company of their newfound friends and counselors.
CHILDREN'S TV PROGRAMMING
TV programs appropriate for children, including cartoons, movies and award-winning programs from Nickelodeon, may be shown on the in-stateroom television during the early morning hours, midday and early evening on the Caribbean, Coral, Crown, Diamond, Dawn, Golden, Grand, Island, Sapphire, Sea, Star, Sun, and Regal Princess ships.
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Princess wants to make every effort to accommodate all its guests, so please contact the Princess staff about any medical and/or special needs that your child may require. Please note that one-on-one supervision may not be offered.
FAMILY CRUISING TIPS
-
Personal Choice Dining is recommended for families who want to dine together so that children may fully participate in the evening youth activities that start at 7:00pm.
-
The dining alternatives aboard Princess ships allow parents the freedom to spend time with their children while they eat an early dinner in the pizzeria, in the 24-hour restaurant offering a special children's menu, in the stateroom with 24-hour room service or in one of our many alternative locations. After taking the children to the supervised Youth Center, parents can then enjoy dining on their own in the elegant dining rooms.
-
Many of Princess' shore excursions have been planned with family cruisers in mind. Discounted rates for children and "family-friendly" activities are available to make the most of your time in port.
-
On embarkation day, the kid's schedule of activities for the entire cruise will be delivered to your stateroom. If you need more than one copy, please advise your Youth Activities Coordinator.
-
On the first night of your cruise, be sure to attend the orientation and registration meeting. You and your children will learn about Princess' exciting shipboard programs and meet the talented Youth and Teen staff that will show your children a wonderful time.
